Jy was on hand to scoop ice cream for the Oakland Athletics 12th Annual Root Beer Float Day at the Coliseum.

Each year the Oakland Athletics have this huge event to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes and once again a big crowd was hand with $29,000 being raised.

Jy was making floats with Oakland A’s legend Vida Blue who was the 1971 MVP and Cy Young winner. “It was a great to come and help out for this very worthy cause. I had never had a float before today but now I am hooked”  said Jy after the event.

What was most impressive about talking with Vida was his knowledge of Australian wines and beer. Both Bondy and I where throughly impressed when he mentioned one of his favourite beers is VB!!

Jy will be heading back to Hartford on July 9th when training camp will commence for the 2011 UFL season. California will miss you mate.
